Yani has taken care of Roxy, our Brussels Griffon, for several years now. Roxy is “high-maintenance,” as we like to say, because she has epilepsy and has to take multiple meds to control it.

We feel totally comfortable leaving Roxy in Yani’s competent hands. Yani is caring, proactive, and goes out of her way to make sure that Roxy feels safe and cared for. She’s kept us posted on Roxy’s status when we’re out of town (great pics!) and asks questions when necessary. She’s made many helpful suggestions about the little behavioral challenges that come with having a small dog.

We would trust Yani with any pet we had, and we look forward to future opportunities for Yani and Roxy to spend time together!

Yani is, hands down, the best pet sitter we know. In fact, the term “pet sitter” doesn’t do her justice! She combines several qualities rarely seen:

– she genuinely and deeply loves animals

– she has a thorough understanding of their needs, their challenges, their unique aspects and

– she inspires a complete and deserved confidence in all animals–human or not.

She took care of our German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix last month. Maxie (our dog) is challenging. She is young and rambunctious, with a strong nipping and herding instinct yet she has arthritis in two of her joints. She is also a rescue and needs a lot of attention. Yani took great care of her, knowing when to give her needed exercise, knowing when to pull back, calling when a concern arose with Maxie’s hip. As a result, we relaxed; knowing Maxie was in the best possible hands and treated with the same care she receives from us.

Yani also went above and beyond the call of duty regarding our son’s leopard gecko. She made sure every aspect of his carefully created habitat was operating optimally, dealing with temperature adjustments, humidity control and live feedings. A leopard gecko might be small, but it takes a fair of bit of work to ensure his well-being! We returned to a welcoming and happy household, thanks to Yani. She strikes the perfect balance between instinct and professionalism.

Thanks again for taking such great care of the kitties and the house while we were away. It’s such a pleasure to come home to happy, contented kitties, and it’s because you’re committed to doing a great job for your customers. Your work ethic makes it easy for us to relax and enjoy our vacations or getaways. It is so apparent that you take great pride in the work that you do.

Yani has cared for my cat Elliott several times over the last few months, often on fairly short notice. She’s reliable and conscientious, always leaving me notes with detailed information about her visits. Elliott loves her and is always relaxed and happy when I get back to town. I’m very comfortable trusting Yani with the welfare of my pet (and with a key to my home.)

I have an eleven year old Great Pyrenees dog, Chanel, and thanks to Yani I am able to travel with peace of mind knowing my old girl is well loved and taken care with as I would. Older dogs need a great deal of attention and need to stay on routine and with Yani staying at our house and taking charge we have a happy dog and a well cared for home environment to which we return each time. I trust Yani completely and value her attention and knowledge of animal heath concerns and her practical and effective manner of dealing with problems as they come up. She is always with a sense of humor and easily relates expressions of genuine affection for those in her charge which is wonderful.

I raise exotic bugs which I use for my teaching programs. I also breed rare finches and have a lot of houseplants and garden plants which need careful attention. I am often away from home for a week or more and in the past relied on friends to care for my menagerie.

Yani now takes care of everything when I’m away and I couldn’t be more pleased with her services.

Where I used to worry, now I can relax and feel sure that everything is fine at home.

I met Yani 5 or 6 years ago in Seattle at a pet store where she worked and where I buy raw food for my cat (and used to for my dog before he died at age 15). I felt awkward asking neighbors (esp. those who didn’t have any pets), again, to feed my pets while we were away so I asked at the pet store if someone there might be available to hire to do pet care. I was given Yani’s name. Yani was a perfect solution.

I was always happy to pay Yani to come to my home to feed our cat and hamster (hamster needed bedding changed, too) — relieved I didn’t have to board our pets or rely on neighbors. Our pets were always well taken care of. Yani spent some time with our cat, too, rather than merely putting out the food and leaving. Our cat eats raw food so it’s very helpful and reassuring that Yani knows about raw food (quantity, refrigeration, washing up). In addition, Yani brought in our mail and newspaper, watered the indoor plants and outdoor potted plants; and, if asked, put out and brought in the garbage and recycle cans.

I trust Yani with my pets and in my home. I not only trust her with my stuff but I trust her intense love of animals, knowledge and her ability and desire to truly care for my pets. Yani is a thoughtful, caring person.

We have used the pet sitting services of Yani Wood for our two cats on a regular basis for the last six years. She has always done an excellent job and both cats know her and feel very comfortable with her. She spends time each day to ensure the cats have company and attention. She is a good observer and will let us know if she thinks anything might be amiss with our pets. She is especially good at giving pills and has taught us a technique that actually works.

Yani cares for all my critters on my small hobby farm. She cares for the ducks, chickens, guinea fowl, rabbits, goat and all the dogs and cats. When I travel I know I can rely on Yani to provide personal care for each of the household animals which includes an aging spoiled housecat who doesn’t like to be left alone ever. My home is well cared for as well as the animals. I know I can trust Yani with the wellbeing of each and everyone of my very precious pets. I trust Yani completely and rely on her good sense to oversee them all when I am away. What a relief to not have to worry about their wellbeing when I travel.
